Vows renewal ceremonies

Renewing your vows is a fantastic way to celebrate your love and marriage.

If anyone should be planning a vow renewal here are some pointers for you.

It’s not a legal ceremony so you don’t need a civil state officer or a Priest to preside.

If the Civil State officer or the priest who performed your wedding is available, ask him or her to preside.

Other options can also be  a close friend, relative or one of your children, or the best man or maid of honour from your wedding.

The ceremony can be customized to your personal specifications and you can choose your readings and musical selections.

The ideal is to write new vows on your current feelings and years together and exchange rings.
You can wear your original wedding dress (kudos if it still fits!) and ask your husband to wear the same style tuxedo he wore on your wedding day.
The alternative  is to choose a floor-length evening dress in white, ivory, platinum or any pastel colour, a cocktail dress or beautiful dinner suit.
If the venue is more casual like a beach or backyard, then you can dress accordingly (sundress or long, flowing skirt and top for you and khaki or  pants and a blazer for your husband).
Ask your children to be in the bridal party, do readings, write a letter or poem, sing or play an instrument and give them special gifts to commemorate the day.
A vow renewal is a time to gather family and friends to celebrate the love and commitment that you and your husband share.
It’s not an occasion for gift giving, although some of your guests may opt to bring one.
Congratulations on finding or choosing to celebrate love again.

Ravello Catholic wedding

Andrew & Holly,
our sweetest couple of the year !
They are so special to us, we love them so much...
Holly & Andrew came here 8 months ago when I was 8 months pregnant of my first baby .
When Holly saw the Hotel Palumbo for the first time she started crying and she said this is my Wedding Venue!
Andrew is a gentleman , nowadays it is very rare to find someone like him, Holly is very lucky to have found him.
Yesterday , finally their dream came through .
The wedding day belonged with the Ravello Events quick visit to Holly at the Hotel Palumbo.
She was having breakfast with her made of honour and we waited for her at the reception.
After having a nice chat with her we left the hotel and we started our wedding planning day!

Florist and his assistent , set up the hotel garden with veils on the pergola, pending lanterns and flowers everywhere.

The church was all in white with flowers on the pews and on the altar mix with candles too.
It looked so fabulous!

Holly asked for a burgundy anemones' bouquet but the florist made two bride’s bouquet, one of calla lilies and one of burgundy anemones.
In the end , she decided to go with the mini burgundy calla’s one, it was very pretty.

Andrew and the wedding party reached the S.Francesco Church at 3.40 p.m everything was under control, Angela, the event coordinator was  taking care of the groom and the church arrangement including the music while Rosaria was waiting in the square for Holly.
The bride came a bit late (as it normally happens)  but the wait was worthy because she was absolutely stunning in her white lace wedding dress .

Once up to the church , Holly’s walked into the aisle while an emotional Andrew looked at her Princess reaching him.

At the end of  the Catholic Ceremony all the party were given lovely paper cones filled with rice and topped with fresh petals to be thrown at the couple’s exit.

A quick stop in the square for a group photo on the Duomo steps and then all the party reached the hotel Palumbo for the Aperitif and the wedding dinner.

Romance in the Rain

Wednesday 17th April 2012 saw the first "Big Day" of our wedding season with a couple who had travelled all the way from Texas. Mackie, a management consultant, and Kathy, a media executive contacted Ravello Events last year asking for advice.
Mackie then worked closely with our coordinator on the itinerary leading up to their big day.

Kathy & Macie

Prior to arriving in Ravello they enjoyed a 10 day holiday visiting various places in Italy before going to Florence where -kathy bought her Armani Wedding dress.

On 12th April they arrived in Naples where they stayed at the Hotel Mediterraneo which was conveniently close to the American Consulate, as the following day - Friday 13th not traditionally a lucky day - they had to go to make their Sworn Declaration.

However, everything went perfectly. The taxi arrived on the dot of 8,30 a.m. and took the couple to the Consulate situated in Piazza Della Repubblica where they made their declaration in front of the American Consul.
At 9.30 Angela, our wedding co-ordinator, met them in Naples with our private taxi driver and they were taken to Salerno for the legalization of the marriage.

That done, the whole party made their way along spectacular and world famouse Amalfi drive and the up into the mountains to Ravello where the couple settled into the luxuriousCaruso Hotel and all the necessary documentation was delivered to the Civil State Officer.

On Monday 16th April, Rosaria, Angela fellow co-ordinator, met Mackie and Kathy to escort them to the Town Hall in Ravello for thier Wedding Declaration and from there to Ravello Events' office to discuss last minute details.

Tuesday, the Big Day ,dawned with rain fallind, but this took nothing away from the romance of the occasion with the final act taking place in our newly refurbished Town Hall where our florist was abe to create a truly wonderful ambience as a backdrop to the couple making their final vows.

Hotel Caruso

They approched the entrance over a beautiful carpet of white and pink rose petals with a string quartet playing thei favourite music.

The atmosphere was intimate but light-hearthed as Rosaria opened the proceedings with a joke! Then it was over to our mayor, Paolo Vuillimier, to welcome them and perform the ceremony.

Ravello City Hall
The vows were made and rings exchenged to concule a rany but very happy occasion.
Aggiungi didascalia
Ravello Events provided a bottle of rosè champagne and we all drank to the health and prosperity of our newly-weds.

That evening the wedding dinner took place at the Caruso Hotel were we arranged a violin to play "Moon River ", the bride's favourite song.

Despit the rain it was a very special and memorable occasion which we hope augurs well for the rest of our season.
