Villa Cimbrone methodist ceremony

Gerard and Aniki's big day begun early in the morning.

Hotel Villa Cimbrone
Bride and groom stayed in the Hotel Villa Cimbrone the night before the wedding.

Closest friends and family spent the night before the wedding in the nearest hotel Villa Maria in Ravello.

The Methodist ceremony was performed in the new area with a fantastic open view on the coast.

Aniki, was a very romantic bride when she walked down to the place accompanied by her dad and her two bridesmaids (also despite the quick shower).

Ravello Wedding Ceremony

All event took place in Villa Cimbrone: from the Methodist ceremony, the aperitif in the bar Veranda and the dinner in the romantic crypt with sea and mountain view.

Musical entertainment, from ceremony to dinner was arranged by the Ravello Events personal musical director .

Floral arrangements were very special starting from Aniki’s bouquet!

It was made of roses in fuchsia .

Our florist, the great Armando Malafronte, was very creative and made some beautiful flowers decorations for the Methodist ceremony, aperitif and dinner.

The event was brilliant during the whole day and all of the guests liked it so much !

  1. My husband and I holidayed on the Amalfi Coast in July 2008 and fell in love with the people, the food and wine and the breathtaking views. We found Ravello one evening after a hair-raising car ride from Sorrento. The guide book had recommended the Villa Maria for dinner. We spent a memorable evening sat on the hotel’s terrace absorbed by the magnificent beauty of the hillside and the sea beyond – it was breathtaking and unforgettable. As we drove away we resolved to return.

A year later when my husband, Gerard, proposed (in Florence) we immediately decided there was only one place that we could imagine getting married; it had to be Ravello. Neither of us spoke Italian at that time and when we contemplated the enormity of the task ahead we decided we’d need help. I spent hours searching the internet to find English speaking wedding planners based on the Amalfi Coast, and the one name that kept coming up was Ravello Events. Everyone who had used their services spoke very highly of Rosaria and Angela. Unusually both speak good English. We arranged to meet them in Ravello to discuss our wedding plans.

From our first meeting Rosaria and Angela put us at our ease. Nothing was too much trouble. Every detail was taken care of. We viewed several venues but for us one place stood out: Villa Cimbrone. Rosaria handled the negotiations, and within hours our wedding day was booked and we were on a flight back to UK looking forward to a September wedding in 2010. The girls made it seem easy.

Planning a wedding overseas can be daunting. You don’t necessarily speak the language, you are not familiar with local suppliers and there is the distance to factor into the equation. Having said that compared with the experience of friends and family our wedding plans went very smoothly from start to finish and we put that largely down to the efforts of Ravello Events. We corresponded mainly by email. The girls diarised all key dates, and sent us regular reminders. They handled our wedding licence and dealt with the authorities. All in all it made getting married, and moreover getting married overseas, relatively stress free. In fact the biggest stress we had was choosing who to invite!

We cannot praise Rosaria and Angela enough. Aside being lovely people who are very skilled at what they do, they know everyone in Ravello and can facilitate whatever you have in your mind for your special day. On the wedding day itself, Rosaria and Angela were on hand and when it threatened to rain as I walked down the aisle they were there to calm my nerves (and Gerard’s) and to ensure umbrellas were at the ready. They really did think of everything, and we were able to sit back, relax and enjoy our wonderful day with friends and family. I know I am biased but I can’t remember having been to a wedding that was so well-planned.

We couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful, well executed wedding day. It went without hitch and we are enormously grateful to Rosaria and Angela not only for making our day so memorable, but for being an absolute pleasure to work with in the preceding year. It is important to any nervous bride and groom to be confident they are entrusting their wedding plans (and money) in safe hands. If you are thinking of getting married on the Amalfi Coast, whether Ravello or elsewhere, we highly recommend you use Ravello Events – it will be a great investment. They are worth every penny of their fee, and more.

We have been lucky to make so many good friends in Ravello, and we look forward to returning this September to practice our Italian (!) and to raise a glass of prosecco with Rosaria and Angela to celebrate our first anniversary.
